Garry recently retired and is excited to share his experience and be included on the newly formed Education Advisory Committee for Qtopia. With 40 years of teaching Science and Digital Technologies and two decades on school leadership teams, Garry brings empathy, acceptance, respect, support, and compassion to inclusive learning, grounded in kindness. As an associate member of the 78ers, he draws on lived experience to inform policy and mentorship, never from a place of heroism. His partner’s 1978 detention during Sydney’s first Mardi Gras remains a defining moment, guiding his commitment to LGBTQI+ students and communities. Garry seeks to contribute humbly, fostering safe, equitable educational practices while honouring history and resilience.
